Love found Within..

“You are fragile...
Plain,” was whispered.
“Ordinary. Invisible.
Worthless....”

You laughed at my struggles.
Scoffed; asked for praise,
To put up with my existence.

I suffered in silence.
Your voice took over mine.
Harsh words, echoed within my soul.
They tore away my heart,
Bit by bit...

I felt pain; I suffered,
A fountain of tears,
Mourning the scars and bruises

Until one morning...
Dawn came;
I opened my eyes;
I saw beyond you
And found me.

The truth...
The real truth,
You were frightened by my strength,
My creativity.

I was and am beautiful,
Extraordinary,
A goddess,
Perfect as me
Even with my imperfections.

The love that surrounds me,
The strength of myself,
Allows you to be a lesson,
A distant memory.




This is to the strength of surviving silence.

Throughout my life I known far too many girls and woman who have dealt with some from of abuse... emotional, physical, mental. And a lot of time their plight is completely silent.... It is something that happens in every community, yours and mine. It may be hidden but it is there.

So I am willing to stand up, and use my art as voice. Spread the word. All women are beautiful, strong, and amazing. No matter what shape, race, background. We all have a story.

I hear you. Perhaps others will too.
